Evolution of Relationships

If we could look into each other’s hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we could treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care. ~ Marvin J. Ashton

This statement goes both ways so it’s important to see yourself as well as others in this light. As I repeatedly say ~ Each one of us are spiritual beings having a human life experience. This experience offers us multiple opportunities for learning and growth. Some experiences may be fun and “easy” to learn; whereas some are quite challenging.

The truth of the matter is that no one really knows or can even fathom what another person may be experiencing. People may have their perception, but I believe that it is impossible to ever truly know. We may ask and gain some understanding from their response, but it is still not the same as “walking a mile in their shoes.” I’m not one to publicly announce challenges I may be facing or if I’m feeling tired or “under the weather.” Therefore, I don’t expect people to know if I’m having a less than desirable day.

As we change and grow, so do our relationships. Many times, there is ebb and flow within these relationships and that’s okay. We have to allow people to leave our life without feeling guilty or feeling like we should have said or done something more. We also have to acknowledge that people may no longer wish for us to be in their life as well. Life happenings, family involvement, focus on work, differences in opinion, interests changing and the busy-ness of life itself may contribute to the demise. Ultimately, we are each having our own human life experience.

I see for myself how the relationship evolution occurs. Rather than viewing the evolvement from an earth plane level, I choose to see it from a Higher soul perspective and recognize that people do come into our life for a reason or a season as the saying goes. It’s not “good” or “bad” per se; it just is. We can try to hang on, but many times we only feel hurt or disappointment.

Observing recent evolutions, I am able to see through the eyes of love rather than fear, which also comprises the energetic vibration of worry, fear, doubt, regret, guilt, shame, feelings of less than or lack of. We are growing, shifting, changing and evolving. It’s only natural that our relationships do so as well.

Like many individuals, I’m balancing my personal/family life with my professional life while injecting time for me in there as well. I have friends, but I’m not one to hang out with people or be chummy. Most of my friends understand my schedule/life/work so we “catch up” periodically on the phone or through email or in person when I travel. We respect and value one another’s time. With that being said, my true friends also know that it’s understood – you need me, I’m there (and vice versa). I feel that seeing our worth and valuing ourselves is essential. Having boundaries and telling people “no” or “I’m not available to chat/talk on the phone/email” at this time is healthy.

Does everyone understand this? No
Is that okay? Yes
Do someone people view having boundaries as being cold, self-ish and only thinking of myself? Probably
Do I have to accept their perception and take it personally? Absolutely not
Can we make people be friends with us? No
Do we have to interact with everyone we meet? Of course not! However, we are of the same Source consciousness so it’s important to see that we are all truly One.

I feel that speaking our truth and expressing our feelings is appropriate and necessary to our physical, mental/emotional and spiritual health. The more that we say what we mean to say while allowing our self to go with the flow, the more at peace we will be. Everything is always as it should be in each and every moment.
