Taking Time to Play

I’ve stated many times that Spirit always provides the perfect message at the perfect time via the perfect messenger. Sometimes, we just have to become aware of where our energy is focused or to consciously ground our energy, which helps us to focus. We are human be-ings after all; not human do-ings.

My intention this summer was to make sure I had plenty of play time and to enjoy the pool. Our kids are grown and are living their own lives in their own spaces. I didn’t uncover the pool the last two years and used the excuse that it was too much work and no one else was here to enjoy it.

Recognizing that a simple change in perspective can shift the energy instantaneously, I knew that some effort would be required for upkeep, but the return of energy investment would be immeasurable. There were days this summer that I found myself longing to lounge, float and just be. A little too much sun on some days would remind me to stay inside altogether or perhaps simply limit my time in the sun. The bounty of flowers surrounding the pool is a haven for bumblebees, butterflies, dragonflies and hummingbirds and also provides the habitat for the plethora of frogs and lizards that occupy the space. In addition to observing nature, cloud watching is awesome and meditative, too!

Dean Schrock’s quote came into my awareness and validated my decision to open the pool, and I do recognize the act of opening the pool is a metaphor to opening up to myself.

It really doesn’t matter. It is not easy to discern what is right or wrong for you, but it really doesn’t matter. There are so many possibilities, infinite possibilities, and each one affords its own adventure.
And none can really take away from the path you are meant to follow.
In fact, any path will only embellish your life path.
The problem comes in when you have to decide which choice is the most harmonious.
And the way to make a harmonious decision is to make it on the premise of love.
Make it from a foundation of love, respect, and tenderness. ~
Dean Schrock

During this time of be-ing, I have really relaxed into allowing “what is.” Recently, a very unusual yet symbolic dream revealed the evolution and reminded me to continue to have patience and to trust in the process in all areas of my life. If you are guided to read my dream and David Rivinus’ interpretation, please visit his website and these 4 posts:

Sometimes, we question if we are on the right path – on a human level and spiritually. Periodically, I question if I am “doing” the work I am supposed to do. These wise words from a friend spoke volumes to me:

Maybe your path now, in part, is to wake up and re-educate those who are asleep at the wheel. Not an easy task, but respectable and very much in need for many out there. Subtleties are the key to nudging them towards self-sufficiency, but I think you could pull it off over time. Reminded again of how much counseling forms the foundation for what you do. There’s the undeniable, spiritual gift. But a lot of your power comes from your guidance as a wise, compassionate and empathetic everyday person.

Remembering to be an “everyday” person is essential. We are spiritual be-ings having a human life experience. This experience includes taking time to play, which contributes to our physical health and mental/emotional well-being.

On a final note, Facebook reminded me that 3 years ago today, I shared a blog titled “It’s Who You Are” about my experiences at Niagara Falls and Lily Dale, NY. What I learned from that experience still pertains:

1) Everything is always as it should be in each and every moment.

2) My guides are continuously working behind the scenes on my behalf, so that I can learn the lessons I am intended to learn.

3) Patience is truly a virtue.

4) Kindness has a ripple effect.

5) Being acknowledged is important and feels good.

6) When an opportunity presents itself, take it. Allow yourself to see all possible perspectives of an experience.

7) I am who I am.

8) It isn’t the destination, but the journey itself.
